Alessandro Mahmoud (born 12 September 1992), better known by his stage name Mahmood is an italian singer and songwriter. He was born in Milan to an Italian mother from Sardinia and an Egyptian father. He Mahmood was raised in Gratosoglio (Milan). His parents divorced when he was 5 years old and he was raised by his mother.
He participated in season six of the Italian version of the X Factor.
In 2019 he won the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Soldi" and will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. "Soldi" reached number 1 in Italian Charts.
